Want people to pay attention to your ads? They better look good on a smartphone.
As surfing the web and Facebook on smartphones and mobile devices continues to trend up, so does mobile advertising.
Facebook reported on their recent earnings call that 84% of their ad revenue came from mobile in the third quarter of 2016. This was up from 78% one year ago.
Mobile Results For Chiropractic Facebook Ad Campaigns
Believe it or not, we’re seeing even higher than 84% of revenue spent on mobile in our recent chiropractic Facebook ad campaigns.
Check out these results from a campaign targeting families for a Michigan chiropractor. The top image shows stats from desktop and the bottom shows stats from mobile.
Desktop Ad Results
272 people were reached on desktop, and 3 clicked the link in the ad.
Mobile Ad Results
6,514 people were reached on mobile, and 334 clicked the link in the ad.
In this campaign, 98% of our campaign spend was on mobile. 99% of our clicks were on mobile devices.
So we take mobile pretty seriously around here 😉
How To Optimize Facebook Ads for Mobile Conversions
Since most Facebook ads are created on desktop, it’s sometimes hard to focus on the mobile look of your ads. But you should! Here are a few ways to make sure your ads will look great on mobile devices.
Make your first line of text short and enticing
Mobile viewers are scrolling, scrolling, scrolling. Get them to stop with a thought-provoking question or immediate benefit.
Keep your ad text brief
Long ad copy will be cut off by Facebook with a “See more” link. Make sure the main point of your ad is right at the beginning, or just keep it short and catchy.
Hint: you can use the click-through headline and copy to say a little bit more.
Ensure there isn’t small text on your image
Remember, what you see for your ad preview on desktop will be smaller on mobile. That includes your image. So if you choose to overlay text over the image, make sure it’s large enough to read on a small screen.
Preview your ad in mobile before publishing
In the final step of ad creation in Ads Manager, you’ll see a preview of your ad on the right side of your screen.
The ad preview shows desktop by default, so make sure to select the drop down and click “Mobile News Feed” to see a mobile preview (see below)
Actually preview your ad on your mobile phone
For pro-level status, check out the tiny, easy to miss link at the bottom of the preview that says “View in Native App.” (see above screenshot)
If you click “View in Native App,” Facebook will send you a notification on phone with a link to view your unpublished ad via the Facebook app. I just discovered this, and I think it’s awesome.
I hope you’re ready to grab major attention from mobile users for your chiropractic practice. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact us.
